Envision Creator

The new generation of metal that has formed literally out of nowhere (read: http://valsignalandet.com/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/ppowell/text.cgi?path=reviews&name=bestof2007.txt) was my experience seeing ENVISION CREATOR at Cornerstone 2007. Awesome guys who are more true to Metal than I've seen in the U.S. in a while and that is very, very.. cold/dark/brutal/face-ripping. Read.

SOA: What made you decide to form a band and make quality metal?

Schnell-Hammer: I've wanted to do it for a long to time, it just took a while to find guys that wanted the same thing.

SOA: Apparently a lot of metal bands have appeared in the last year or so literally out of nowhere, therefore, how will you ensure that Envision Creator will stand out from "among the crowd"?

Schnell-Hammer: Hmmmm.. Write the music we want, have fun, let Christ be seen in the utter brutality that insues, and play till peoples faces explode!

SOA: Your view on the current "metal-ish" bands playing breakdowns, or just breakdowns in general.

Schnell-Hammer: Some bands can pull it off really well, but for the most part "breakdowns'' seem like a cru&lb;t&gb;ch.

SOA: If you had your "dream lineup" where Envision Creator was allowed to play, what band(s) would it be and where?

Schnell-Hammer: Crimson moonlight, Behemoth, Extol, and Necrophagist. Somewhere over in Europe.

SOA: Do you think that the current trend toward more "progressive Christianity" that is starting to appear in music is something that directly affects Envision Creator as far as what message(s) you try to convey?

Schnell-Hammer: I don't thinks so. Were are human beings just like everyone else, we just want people to see Christ in us. Live as he would.

SOA: When I leave (or crawl out hehe) an Envision Creator show, what else should I be left with (other than possible mosh pit bruises)?

Schnell-Hammer: Hopefully you've seen something different than what you would expect at a show, and you'd want to see it again. And probably some severed limbs!

SOA: Future plans?

Schnell-Hammer: We should have a full length out by spring. Keep playing and keep growing.

SOA: Final Comments?

Schnell-Hammer: Ehhhhhhhhh.. Don't look at I-pods through polarized sunglasses. Goodnight!
